Some Context First
I’m a scatterbrain with a million things on the go on a daily basis. The biggest issue in my personal life is my obesity. I have been hovering at 370lbs for a good while now, after knocking off 25 pounds.
I hit a wall.
I’m reminded of my sobriety when I hit my first 90 days sober and drank on day 91. Then the next time I hit 90 days sober it wasn’t until day 120 that I fell off the wagon. Then 200 days, then fall, then 400 days, then fall, then 1000 days and so on.
It was a touch-and-go strategy to get myself used to the idea of sobriety. I never judged myself for falling off the wagon but kept to the commitment. Falling off the wagon wasn’t permission to revert to my old ways, however, it was a marker that I had to start over.
Now I need to do this with food.
How is it I go 3 weeks eating healthy like a champ and then one cheeseburger sends me on a three month bender of salt, sugar, and fats, where I just leave my apartment, squinting at the morning light, wondering, “Who have I become?!”
So What Do You Think of My Plan?
I’m going to eat the same three meals every day for as long as possible. I have tried the touch and go strategy with food and it hasn’t had the same results of my sobriety so I want to make to turn food (for now) into something I don’t need to think about. By knowing what I’m going to eat every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I can expel my energy on my work and my family while still committing to weight loss.
I want to do my research.
Find out what’s a strong breakfast to kickstart the system, a good lunch to hold me over, a dinner to drive it all home and a snack to pinch it off with a kiss.
But the plan is THREE MEALS. Every day. For as long as possible. Accompanied by some form of physical exercise like walking or swimming.
I’m not a nutritionist and food is one of the most polarizing conversations in our modern world. The food industry undergoes so many toxic changes and trends that the food industry itself is not concerned with us eating well. Most things are marketed to hurt us. Almost everything inside the grocery aisles. The protein and grains and fruits and vegetables are all on the side and that’s the stuff we should probably be putting in our bodies.
Now, I don’t know what those three meals are going to be, I’m going to do my research, but in the meantime, here’s what I need from you!
The more answers we get from this the better just drop them in the comments below.
A) Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not? What do you really think of my plan. Be honest.
B) If you were forced to go on this diet, what would be the three meals you choose to eat every single day?
